Personally I think Hagler would defeat Jones with relative ease, but he would have to make into a brawl to do so.

Hagler was an exceptional boxer, and against RJJ the main attributes of his that would come into play would be his agression and sheer toughness. I have seen Jones box the head off numerous inferior opponents, but I have never once seen him perform as well as Hagler at his very best, and I have no doubt whatsoever that if Hagler brought the required aggression to the table then he would stop Jones some distance before the end of the fight.
