People don't give Baldomir from 06 enough credit, he fought like a man on a mission (and minus the Floyd fight) and he did well. He handled Judah much easier than Clottey, Cotto or even Floyd handled him. He whipped Gatti just as bad as de la Hoya and nearly as bad as Mayweather in the later rounds. He was very competitive with Clottey, and Joshua was on the way to a UD before a very valid DQ. His chin was unbreakable and his technique was under-rated and it made up for his slow speed. In '06 Margarito-Baldomir is anyones fight. But today Margarito takes it no problem and maybe even stops Carlos on his feet. When Baldomir got rocked by Perez he was out of shape, fighting at 160 and getting on in age.
In 06 Baldomir looked much better than now, and Margarito looked worse than he does now. I would have picked Carlos by UD.
But Baldomir is retired now btw.Comment
