Is MAYWEATHER'S Aura of invincibility too High...?

My first thought immediately after watching Cotto-Marg was that I could see plenty of reasons why Mayweather might prefer to avoid facing Margarito. Before that I would have told you that Mayweather would school Margarito badly.

Of course, Floyd still might do that. Comparing him and Marg as boxers is like comparing night and day, but if Marg were to catch up to him then I'm pretty sure he could put Floyd in all kinds of trouble.

So is Mayweather's aura of invincibility too high? Yes, he could be beaten if he chose the wrong opponent.

Mayweather relies a lot on his jab to keep fighters at distance, but would this work against Marg? I'd say that if Mayweather did not execute a tactically perfect fight, then there would be a risk that Tony might catch up to him and stop him.

I'm not saying I would even make Marg favourite, I wouldn't, but Floyd isn't perfect, and he knows this better than his fans do, and he is well aware of the risk someone like Margarito represents, which is why he has good reason not to fight him.

You wrote a good post, but Floyd won't fight anyone unless it is for money at this stage in his career. Margs doesn't bring anything to the ring Floyd hasn't seen.

No it isn't. Love him or hate him he for the most part was a class above every fighter he has faced. He has only had problems with one fighter(Castillo) in one fight( Castillo/Mayweather 1) and then afterwards he beat him handly.

Who knows of Margarito can/could/would beat him. The fact remains is that he(Mayweather) has all the skills and ability to beat any fighter that is placed in front of him. He would be favored in such fight and that is why people hold him up in such high regard.

Nah Margarito isn't a threat. Margarito is just size chin stamina pressure and power. If you don't have speed accuracy ability to cut off the ring with that then you'd best not step in the ring with Floyd. Margarito wouldn't be able to land **** on Floyd IF he ever corners him. Again, Margarito fans are begging for a fight they'd just call boring.

J Castillo is a much better Boxer than Margarito and he is quicker and he is better at cutting the ring down and Floyd utterly dominated him in the rematch he barely won one round

I like margo and liked his attitude of fighting whoever, but if he doesn't show a desire to fight williams in the near future, i'll lose a lot of respect for him, much like i lost respect for floyd.

Williams seems like the type of a champ we need. His willingness to fight Pavlik really impressed me. I hope he doesn't turn into this "no one knows him, doesn't bring in money, hasn't done enough" type of guys that floyd was and margo is turning into.
