Was the PPv sales for Margarrito/Cotto released yet?

If not.Thats definitely a sign that the fight was a flop PPV wise. When a fight is successful Promotors, networks etc. like to release the sales numbers for marketable and image reasons for the fighter.

If a PPV flops,it hurts a fighter in the negotiation table for his next big fight to a degree.Thats why promoters don`t like to release the numbers if it was a flop.

Not officially but estimates are extremely high and it is a garunteed success.

It has already broken Cotto-Mosley, which did 350,000 buys, it is basically garunteed to do well over 400,000 buys, and Rafael says it could do over 500,000 buys after its all been counted up

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "NOT OFFICIALLY"? Is there another way?

Arum floated some false rumours about the nums being north of 400K. They are not.

If the nums were strong, HBO would have released pretty quickly.

...unless you believe everything that Arum says. Do you?

HBO cannot release the numbers until every last PPV has been counted. THe more buys, the longer it takes. Arum can release any numbers he wants.

Considering the event was very popular among fans and critics, and popular on PPV, he has no reason to lie. It definetly broke 400k, its been said from many different sources.

Let me just put it this way, it CLEARLY did better then any Mayweather fight did on PPV, pre-DLH

I would not be shocked if this fight did in excess of 500k buys. A lot of casual boxing fans ordered this one. It was hyped big time, even getting ESPN coverage on the front page of their site...

In Nevada I believe the PPV totals are taxed, so there will be an official count as part of the public record. You can hide the totals when they take place in other states.

The PPV's for Hatton-Mayweather weren't released until a good week and a bit later than the fight, it isn't any indication that the fight didn't sell well.
