Nobody knows this but Cotto. I suspect A was goin to the body like he always does. He couldn't do that at all. B musta been to let tony come in and counterpunch. That was goin okay for a while but didn't stick cuz Tony kept walkin thru everything he threw. C was a last ditch effort to KO Tony or die tryin by sluggin it out. Luckily he got stopped before it could go that far.

An interesting way to look at it and you're probably right. I never looked at it like he forgot to throw body punches, or that it was a mistake that he didn't. I think it was too risky to do so.

I read an article where Cotto said he did not go to the body because he couldn't. He said Tony's pressure didn't allow him to attack the body, he was forced to fight off the ropes and Tony covered his body well, at least that's what he was quoted as saying.
