The Map Out Your Fighter's Future Path Thread

    1. Pick a favorite fighter of yours

    2. Plot a career path for the next few years

I don't want this to be a hate thread where guys bash on a fighter and say what he should do and how he isn't doing it.

You don't have to act in the fighter's best interests either (even though you like him). Plot a course that would lead him to potential greatness or just make for some great fights in general.

    3. Be as realistic as possible

    I'll start:

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    2008: Don't retire!

Early 2009: Fight Antonio Margarito if he hasn't lost his next fight

Mid 2009: Fight Paul Williams if he hasn't lost any fights

Late 2009/Early 2010: Take on the middleweight champion (still Pavlik?)

    Retire after that

It might take longer than a year and a quarter year to work all that in, but everybody knows Floyd isn't sticking around long if he comes back at all, so go for the biggest, most meaningful fights and try to make history by cleaning out 147, capturing the middleweight title and retiring undefeated. Go out with a ****.

          Carl Froch

Beat Pascal for the WBC title, take on number 1 challenger after and beat him also.

Try to unify against Kessler or Bute. If successful in unifying, depending on the Pavlik/Hopkins result, take on Pavlik towards end of 2009. Will beat him and go down as an Eras great.

          or:

Will beat Pascal for the WBC title. Will step up to an elite fighter and get beaten. Will go back to fighting low par opposition and fade into obscurity.

beat mijares in a WBC/WBA/IBF unification bout

if he wins that, fight and beat montiel for the WBO belt

            rematch and beat donaire

            retire

            Floyd:

comeback and beat Margarito if Margarito is still unbeaten by the end of the year.
