    Ever notice how we...

talk about all these potential match ups between different fighters at different weights but 90% of them never happen?

it sucks, thats why I have a problem with fighters who duck opponents, they rob the sport.

I'm just talking generally, there's too much emphasis on protecting records, cherry-picking opponents and future hall of fame **** in boxing and not enough on all the top boxers actually getting into the ring with each other.

It should be a thing of extreme shame not to step in the ring if there's a credible opponent in the weight division but instead many people think its ok because a ****ty record has to look good in the long term.

Imagine this happening in any other sport, like the 100m for example, imagine the top sprinter refused to take to the track against another top sprinter because it would ruin his record or in football if the top teams didn't face each other.

The sport has got its priorities all wrong. I'm no big Cotto fan and I don't know if he's ducked anyone before but he seemed like a boxer who was ready to get in the ring anytime, anywhere with anyone and I respect him for that, all the other boxers should take the same attitude and then maybe we'd see an explosion of popularity in the sport and not have it fading away.

Boxing has to be the most frustrating sport to be a fan of.

Well, its the only real sport where the competitors get to choose their opposition.

Imagine in football (soccer Fat Yanks):

"So sir Alex, incredible performance by Man Utd to win the league again this year, an amazing achievement after playing Derby County 36 times this season."
