    Same Day Weigh Ins

boxing needs them back, for obvious reasons

. no big guys cutting weight to fight smaller guys and then ballooning back up inbetween weigh in and fight night so they have a weight advantage. thats simply cheating, like what gatti did to gamache

. and less risk of brain injury/death as lots of injuries such as these in boxing are caused by weight drain. you have less energy as a result of it and you're body responds badly to punishment

i think the official weigh in say 4-8 hours before the fight would be best, like its done in the amateurs, if arent on or below your weight class limit at that time, you're disqualified

The reason they moved the weight in to the previous days is because there were too many deaths. Bigger guys were still weight-draining but they didn't have as much time to rehydrate resulting in more brain damage and death.

I agree in many ways the variations in weight is far too big and undermines the weight classes, and puts ppl of the sport with this extra factor and complexity.

But it'll probably have to be done gradually now to change the culture of weight draining.

        Then that's their fault.

This guy is aussiboxer who is what? 13?

I remember him saying he missed the days when there was only 1 world champion as if he was around then And he doesn't even know who Michael Watson is.

There's actually more risk in brain injuries because boxers can't rehydrate themselves properly if there are same day weighins, it's not like boxers weren't draining themselves to make weight back then either.
