Probably Barrera.. He got knockdown several times before he got punished like a punching bag.. The thing there is, he was the a top 3 P4P fighter and the best featherweight at that time..

The first fight between Pacquiao and Barrera was probably a worse beatdown because nobody expected Barrera to get beat up the way he did, although the ending to Pacquiao-Diaz was scarier.

Well, Pac's win over Barrera was unexpected at the time but Barrera was older and Pac was an up and coming champ so in hindsight it shouldnt have come as that big of a surprise. Diaz pretty much fought like a sack of potatoes, he showed up got beat around, cashed his check and went home. So I'd go with Diaz.

Even though Barrera was older, he was pound for pound number 3 at the time I believe and was the man at the weight, even in hindsight it's a big surprise to me.

Actually it was thought Barrera would easily school Pacquiao who back then, was labeled as a 1 dimensional slugger. He showed many dimensions vs Barrera yet was still 1 dimensional as shocking as that was, that night. Nobody expected the way the match played out to be so 1 sided and dominant. I still think Diaz took a greater beating. He didn't dish out anything. Pac's face looked relatively as if he wasn't in a fight at the end against Diaz, while Diaz's face looked like it was put behind a meat grinder. Barrera was beaten to a pulp but he didn't have blood running down all over his face with a nearly closed eye.

Mab got knocked down several times but Diaz got beaten to the punch almost every single time.

At least Mab had his moments.

                Diaz had none.

Yeah, I realize it was unexpected at the time. my point was that it's not very surprising in retrospect given the fact that Pac ended up becoming another great champ. Barrera had approached the tail end of his career with 60 fights and a HOF resume by then so it was only a matter of time before another young champ came along and that young champ obviously turned out to be the Pacman.

Barrera shouldn't have been in the ring with anybody that night. He wasn't prepared for a tough fight.
