Dinisio Miranda Upsets Sebastien Demers in Canada

By Cliff Rold - Fans were treated to an entertaining and competitive Middleweight showdown on Friday night at the Gare Windsor Salle des Pas Perdus in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They also saw a bit of an upset as 26-year old Middleweight Dioniso Miranda (20-2-2, 18 KO) captured an earned split decision over a Montreal native in 28-year old Sebastien Demers (25-2, 9 KO) over ten rounds. Demers may have won more rounds, but a ninth-round knockdown for Miranda appeared to make the difference on the night.

This was a good fight. I'm glad to see Miranda get the win. I didn't think he would get the edge because he was fighting on the other guy's home turf and usually close fights go to the hometown guy.

I never liked Demers.. But I think Miranda showed alot of heart and it was a hell of a fight, very good win for Miranda.

Ugh, I was really hoping Demers would be able to pull that one out.

What the heck? I turned the channel thinks Demers would win, and Miranda won? Wow! Demers must've reallly slowed down or something.
