Clearly it is better for ones legacy to fight as many colours of people as you can instead of fighting the absolute best. Not to say there aren't plenty of great black fighters (though fewer around that weight), but de la Hoya means more than Campbell/Guzman/Casamayor/Bradley/Witter/D. Hopkins/Any potential blackman.
