Maybe Manny will challenge Ali in his next fight Anyway, regardless of whether DLH crumbles or Manny is KTFO (which is alot more likely), both guys are getting a huge payday and that's the main motivator for these guys.
    Typical Mexican exposed
discrediting mannys balls for fighting a bigger man by saying he is washed up.
but then wanting Margarito to fight a washed up oscar.
    Talk about biased.

          Oscar the Golden Ballschik.

I don't think that Oscar is "past it", although 3 years past his prime. As for the nonsense he's spreading about "revenge" because Manny signed with Arum a couple of weeks after having signed for Golden Boychik, this is strictly not true.

As far as I can recall- and I'd be obliged if wrong, that someone would correct me- Manny still had a fight to do for Arum before they discussed a new contract...AND Arum's existing contract forbade Manny to even discuss signing with ANYONE until that fight was over. Don't forget Arum is a Harvard qualified lawyer himself, and knows EXACTLY what he's doing. This is why he is easily the top promoter.

When Manny came to the US, for his last Arum contracted fight, having had a very long flight and no sleep, he was met at the airport by......who else.... GOLDEN BOYCHIK..... who promptly wined and dined Manny for a couple of hours with Manny half asleep most of the time. Our Boychik kept talking into Manny's ear all the time, but Manny, not wanting to be rude, just told him that he couldn't legally sign. Golden Balls kept at it, and Manny eventually signed. He afterwards said that he kept telling Oscar that he couldn't sign, but did eventually just to get away from him and go to sleep. Soooooo.......

When Arum heard this, he explained to Manny that he wasn't legally liable to that contract and could re-sign with him, Arum, as was arranged, and intended to do all the time. So he DID.

The GOLDEN BALLSCHIK put on a well feigned show of underdoggery, and hurt feelings, and there was a lot of "too-and-fro" between Oscar and Arum.
Oscar cried on every shoulder he could find. I know that they were to go to court, but don't think they did.

They settled between them and saved multi-millions in court and legal fees.

The settlement was that Manny was a Top Rank fighter, but in case Manny ever fought against a Golden Balls fighter, they would co- promote it, with undisclosed percentages.

This would have happened anyway, since if Arum wanted Manny to face Oscar's fighter, this would indicate a very good matchup and loads of money. Oscar could turn it down unless he got a piece of the promoting pie. They actually, not long after had a Manny-Marquez fight, using this formula, and Oscar was delighted, and made a fortune. [or he made a fortune and was delighted]

And this is the way I believe it worked out.

As for the present proposed fight, I think it's a scandal for Oscar to be crapping around a small guy who just had his very first 135lb fight a month ago. Oscar would come in the ring at least 165 lbs, to Manny's 142=145.
With a much longer reach and over 4 inches in height, it would be a crime....no matter how good Manny is, he's not a good enough boxer to avoid Oscar for 12 rounds, and still win. The only way might be for him to jump out of the ring, through the ropes whenever it gets too heavy.

Perhaps Roach is encouraging this fight because his cut will be huge, and he's already counting it.......??

Oscar's fight against Steve Forbes can't legitimately be used as a reason to show that this proposed fight is not the huge mismatch is seems. Since Forbes was already used to fighing around welter, having been through a Contenders tourney at that weight, and ALSO, NOT LEAST. Steve Forbes is a far better boxer than Manny, I mean skillwise, and could go throught the fight unhurt. Manny wouldn't be able to do that, no matter how brave he is, in fact his bravery would just lead him into trouble.

bravery doesn't equate to skills. Just my opinon for what it's worth.

How was I "exposed" when I never suggested DLH should fight Margarito. De la Hoya should have called it a career after losing to Mayweather. At this point, he doesnt stand much of a chance against the top level competition anywhere near his weight class. Which is why the Manny fight makes sense to him while Manny is hoping DLH will be a bigger and older fading champ to take down. The odds certainly wont be in his favor but the the risk/benefit ratio is worth it especially with all the money being thrown around.

Your previous post was pretty much a knock on Pacquiao for "making a career out of fighting faded champs". Given the CONSIDERABLE size disparity, you really can't criticize Pac's choice of opposition should this fight take place other than he's one crazy mother****er. DLH is a mountain of a challenge compared to anybody else within his weightclass.
