Agree, becuz Floyd is called a coward, ***** and a ducker. If Floyd was all that then why Cintron, Paul, Cotto and Margarito feel the need to fight him. Mayweather loves money and he isn't gonna settle for what he'd call "Pocket Change". Hey maybe it is't pocket change. Could be that Mayweather is too spoiled, afterall he was the 2nd most paid athlete of 2007. I'm willing to admit that Mayweather is an unproven WW but me and most of my group would say he'd beat everyone at the WW division.
Ofcourse I'll fight along side The Coalition but I can understand (SOME) of the enemy's point of view.
My counter to that is, does he even have to prove himself at Welterweight? He started off as a Jr. Lightweight and stormed through everyone. He moved up a lot of weight classes to get to Welterweight. He basically stayed there to get some payoff fights.
Sure I wish he would have fought Margarito and Cotto, as both would have seriously tested him. I just think he was looking for some easy fights as he lost much of the love he had for the sport.
It happens to fighters, even great ones like Floyd. So many want to sit around and judge him for what he did at Welterweight, while at the same time, overlook him as probably the top 2 Jr. Lightweight of all time and top 5 lightweight of all time. How can someone overlook that? My regret for Floyd is that I wish he would not have wanted the desire to become "belt in every weight class" champ. That is what took more away from him than everything as he spread himself out too much. As he got into his 30's, he started waking up with aching bones and he started losing the same desire that every other fighter loses once they have been in the game for too long. he should not be judged for that.

Good post and I agree. He has been in the game since he was young. So I can understand. I'm sure the right amount of MONEY will revive him. Have you read an article on how much he as spent?? You should check it out lol

Yeah I saw that . It is good news for us fans as you know he will have to make a comeback if he keeps up that kind of crazy spending. He still can also make a **** as he never absorbed any punishment his whole career. He will come back fresh and ready. His only obstacle would be rustiness but he keeps himself in good shape and that will help.

Retirement seems to be working well for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather Jr. who amassed fame and fortune in the boxing ring, certainly doesn't need boxing these days. Recently Mayweather Jr. went on record with the Grand Rapids Press discussing some of his recent spending.
Mayweather Jr. made about $100 million in gross purses, but admits he has made much more outside of the ring. In fact Mayweather Jr. is doing so well that he recently acquired some high end purchases. Purchases such as a brand spanking new Jet aircraft worth an astounding $26 million. If ruling the Skies in a brand new jet isn't enough, Mayweather Jr. can also be king of the waves with a brand new Yacht worth $20 million. Mayweather Jr. also recently scored himself a new home in Vegas worth $18.5 million, plus another home in Miami costing $11 million.
Mayweather Jr. doesn't credit his latest bout of spending from his earning he made in the ring, but rather the money he has invested. Mayweather Jr. plans on being a Billionaire by the end of this year, telling the Grand Rapids Press: "I was truly, truly blessed to have good people around me and I was smart during my career. I made great investments. By the end of this year, I should be a billionaire."
Mayweather Jr. added: "I went from the ring to Wall Street, that's all I can tell people."
I for one am happy to see Mayweather Jr. doing so well in retirement. I wish all boxers would be fortunate enough and smart with their winnings from boxing. I hope Mayweather Jr. enjoys all that money has to offer him...but I also hope he remembers he made every penny he has, including what he is making on Wall Street, from the money he got from the pockets of hard working fans who paid a small fortune for his Pay-Per-Views. People who work 40 hours a week and more just to survive. Real ****in People. Mayweather Jr. may have all the God given talents that made him an awesome boxer... but all his money came from the fans. The kind of fans who support Boxing and make it impossible for Congress to pass laws banning Boxing. Without those fans, their support, their money....then Mayweather Jr. more than likely would have ended up a penniless Bum on the streets of Detroit. Sure, these days he'd like you to think he is a smart Wall Street Bloke... but come on! Who is Mayweather Jr. kidding?
In the end, Boxing doesn't need Mayweather Jr. Boxing never needed Mayweather Jr. It was Mayweather Jr. who needed Boxing.

Good and bad at the same time. It'd be like what Max said, Max said "If you have lost the desire to fight, then stay retired, You shouldn't fight a legit WW with one foot in the ring and the other foot outside the ring.
