Duran, who had already beaten the then undefeated Leonard, got tired of chasing him around the huuuuuuuuuge 24 ft ring. And he was insulted by SRL's constant taunting and clowning. Not to mention he never said "No Mas," and was not taking a beating at the time.

IMO Cotto was taking knees to give himself the maximum possible time to recover from his troubles. The corner made the right decision to end the fight but I think Cotto was willing to go on. He just felt it was a better option for him to take a knee and try to clear up a little more before facing another barrage.

Duran quit purely from frustration. Despite what he has said since I think he immediately regreted that decision. I do not believe he was in any physical discomfort, he was simply being fooled around with and was frustrated that he could not hit Leonard.

They are two totally different and incomparable scenarios in my view.

SRL is a LEGEND no disrespect to him but he acted like a CLOWN. Just imagine someone with really quick feet sticking out his tongue and throwing funny faces at you and then hitting you with a 1-2.
