Khan is a very talented offensive fighter who is still young and can be molded.Mayweather senior might of been the right choice to improve his defense so his chin wouldn't get checked.Lets see what Rubio can do

Khan lied, he chose rubio because he was the only trainer willing to come to britan, not because he was the "best trainer". Hes going the wrong direction I believe, should of stuck with floyd sr. Time will tell i think.

I agree with the above post, Rubio is probably the only one willing to go over to the UK to train him and I'm not sure if it's the right choice.

i personally would have like to see floyd senior or roger mayweather train him...just to protect his chin lol but suppose we will see how it goes! if re-locating to america is the best thing for his career he should defo do it!

I happen to think Rubio is a decent choice. It allows Khan to have a measure of confidence, as well. He's the trainer who stopped him from getting the gold. It might mentally allow him to have more confidence in Rubio, in a psychological sense.

His chin will get better as soon as he gets out of the lightweight division, though he will never have the sturdiest of chins it will get better.

The above post are probably right about the choosing of Rubio since he will cross the Atlantic to train, this, and staying with Warren shows how dedicated he is to becoming the best.

If he really wants to be the best, he would of trained in the usa with a better trainer, then on his time off, went to bolton to visit family and friends etc... he would of ditched frank warren by now also, hes prob the most slyest, sneakiest promoters I seen for a while. Obviously winning even the WBU means a lot of khan though...

Hummm but amateur and pro boxing are completely 2 different breeds.
How does an amateur trainer train a pro boxer?

Well, there are plenty of trainers who take fighters from the AMs straight to the pros and the transition is fine if you handle the situation properly. Just have to know how to make the slight tweaks that will come up. You can always train an Am fighter as a professional, just let him know what he has to do as an amateur. Let him know that once the head gear comes off, you have to be more selective with the punches, put more power into them and go in the for the kill, etc. etc.

It happens quite often.
