Cotto took two voluntary knees in the same manner that Judah, without taking a punch. Zab got up again and tried to fight. Miguel got up and backpedaled all the way to the other side of the ring and took another knee.

It was a smart choice for him to quit.
Intention again my man. Cotto was getting pummeled the first knockdown and went down and got hit while he was down. Got up no legs and tired took a voluntary knee. But Got Up. He Didn't QUit.

He quit. Get over it. Tony broke his will.

Its ok , it was the best thing for him to do and I can't fault him for it. I'm still a fan of his.

Cotto's uncle stopped it because his nephew was getting beaten and worn out. He took that knee out of being tired not quitting. Cotto lost. But Margarito WON the fight more than Cotto lost it. If he had a different cornerman that wasn't related god knows it wouldn't be pretty. Stop this quitting Bull**** because if it weren't for his family Cotto might have been really hurt. Good stoppage by his corner, Great Will to win by Margarito, and bad gameplanning by the Cotto crew.
Not to put Cotto as a ***** cause to be able to take all the punishment that Tony dish out he lasted 11 rounds which I think he has more balls than most fighters (yeah am talking bout gayweather, mosley, de la hoya). But at the end he quitted. Cotto is a great fighter and will continued to be.

How can you tell Cotto quit?

Second knockdown: After referee separate them (cause Cotto clinch) he back away with guard down (signs of fatigue). Tony didn't land any shot and Cotto still took a knee. After he got up u could tell, when cotto's corner got onto the ring, Cotto closes his eyes and nobs as if giving a sign of approval for them to throw in the towel.

Quitters are underrated. They live to fight another day.

Cotto nodded "yes" to his corner. He quit. Accept reality.
