The point's been missed here. Hatton has again lied to the public in a bid to protect his public image by saying Graham retired when in reality they fired him. This is another example of the distortion of truth which springs from the Hatton camp, the primary example being Hatton's continuous excuses for avoiding Junior Witter (by offering possibly the worst excuse in the history of the sport). This is a real low blow from Hatton, doing this to the man who trained him all these years, at least the team could have shown some respect and been truthful about the situation instead of putting Graham in such an awkward postion.

Ricky has not gone up to 190 again though. At 160 Ricky's face looks fat though and I doubt he's going to want to lose more than 20 pounds to make 140 for the PM fight.Comment

"I was sacked," Graham said, "but if Ricky wants to finish with me that's entirely up to him. As a result I have decided it is a good time to retire. I'm not going to get into a slanging match with Ricky because we've been through too much together. I always said I would retire when Ricky finished and I had hoped to stick it out to the end.
"We've spent half our lives together and we've changed each other's lives. It's a fantastic story and I'm not going to ruin it by bad-mouthing him. I wish him all the best for his next fight."

I really am curious to know if Hatton can be tought to be better at this stage in his career. As much as I hate to admitt it, Mayweather Sr. is a very good trainer even though he can barely speak coherently. Maybe he can give Hatton some defense and positioning advice and make Hatton even better at what he does well already. It may be time for a posotive change. All respect to Billy Graham though.Comment

i agree that mayweather Sr is a great trainer but idk about this... to me it seems a little late in Hatton's career for him to really effectively learn and put into action enough of what mayweather would bring him. he should just stick to a trainer that will help him keep his offense intact maybe improve it a little bit...Comment
