Who was the worst linear CW champion?

Personally I'm going to say it's O'Neil Bell. Lost to Mormeck in a rematch and quit against Adamek for God knows what.

    O'Neil Bell. Then Mormeck.

Holyfield was/is a great so you can't really put him in this poll. David Haye has great tallent who shouldn't be on the poll either, he's already prooved he's atleast the best of that division right now and he's still got some big fights to come.

Bernard Benton was pretty bad, the division hasn't been around very long so there haven't been too many lineal champions, I don't think there was a lineal champion between Holyfield and Bell.

Edit: Benton was the Cruiserweight Champion of the World but Holyfield was the first lineal champion so Bell it is.

Of course I wouldn't pick Holyfield but he's only there because there's only four linear champions so its a short list.

Mormeck is way better than most of the cruiserweight title holders. I dont know who you would class as linear champ before mormeck unified against braithwait i would have to look into it.

I was talking as a Linear champ though, Mormecks a great boxer but he's definatly one of the weaker Linear champs out of that short list.

The first linear champion was the winner of Holyfield-De Leon (WBC, WBA, IBF unification).

Then Holyfield moves up, title is vacant. Nobody unifies until Mormeck fights Braithwaithe for WBC, WBA titles. Then fights O'Neil Bell for the undisputed title, in effect creating a new lineage of the CW title.

Bell wins by KO, stripped of IBF belt in a rematch with Mormeck and loses the linear title.

Then Haye becomes linear champ by beating Mormeck. He is the current linear champion.

Another interesting tidbit about this is that David Haye is the only lineal champ to make a successful title defense.
