Gave it a peak, and helped Mayweather. Which is nice, but at the end of the day.. Mayweather capilatized off of that with only one fight. So, even he wasn't TREMENDOUSLY helped AFTER that fight. Not compared to what he could have made.
The reason they paid for this fight is because Floyd and Dlh have personality, and in the past have shown heart, skill and desire. The fact that other fights don't do well ppv wise unless a fighter can pack their own house shows that boxing lacks fighters with a risk it all mentality, personality, a legit top 10 list of contenders instead of seeing fighters called champions who haven't proven themselves and have fought in fights where they are more than likely going to win which fans hate. They paid to see Floyd and Dlh and knew what they were getting. They all knew the fight would be action or tactical.

Well, I wouldn't know that because I don't live in the brain of every fan.

What would be your projection for Mayweather-margarito?
Oh, trust me. I get what you're saying. I'm not arguing that. What I'm saying is, at this point, he's only had one fight. He could be promoting his second by now. At least. If his career stays at where it's at, he'll have used this to his advantage in only one instant. That would be sad, for his sake.

I think all of his fights would do well, numbers wise. They'd still have to have SOME name, but they'd do very well. He's a big enough draw at this point.

But, he could be making more money at this point. If money is the name of his game, he could technically begin losing that once those big fight checks stop rolling in.

Regardless, I don't blame him for getting out. No money at 140 or 154 and 147 isn't his division. Not in the sense most people think it is. Not to say he'd lose to ANYONE in those divisions with any certainty, however there are risks without the BIGGEST reward.

However, to make the counter to the risk/reward thing and to answer your question...

I think Margarito/Mayweather at this point would break the American numbers that Mayweather/Hatton did.

Yeah, but 800,000k were still interested lol. Floyd wasn't going to keep doing a mil plus ppv numbers on a fight to fight basis.

By contrast, what will Cotto sell in his next fight? Or margarito? Or hatton?

Not you, but it is amazing to me how some people allow their hate to override clear, factual data or logical thought.

Have I mentioned that I hate that Dog Whisperer guy?

Have I mentioned that I hate that Dog Whisperer guy?
First of all, let's get this cleared up. You don't need to mention that. Everyone hates him. Especially dogs.

Cotto will still get have his ceiling set at about somewhere near 350-400,000. Hatton, if you count U.K. sales is VERY popular. I count them, due to the fact that it still pays him. So, he gets a good 600,000 or so. I could be wrong, since his next fight IS Malignaggi, however he could sell out an arena over there if he took a **** in a shoe box.

Margarito is a tough number to count to. His only other PPV bombed, but at the same time, this was before his major cable and PPV exposure. Before his Cotto fight and before he was able to make every Mexican a little money and incredibly proud and happy. Mexicans reward their fighters, right or wrong. He could do a solid 250-300,000 with the right opponent.

Now, I never said any of these guys is the bigger draw, compared to Mayweather. I'm just saying he could have and should have capitalized on that De La Hoya fight a bit more, in my humble opinion.

              • Drone and Dominicano taking it to another level with the back and forth. But, guys I like the dog whisperer guy lol. I also like the English chick Victoria I believe is her name lol. I mean when you eat microwavables, and then PREPARE your dogs dinners, how could you NOT like seeing a dog trainer humiliate, and put the dog owners in their place?

                    • Max Kellermen misses Floyd....( U CAN TELL) HE SPENT 8 SECONDS TALKING ABOUT Oscar
ducking Margarito and and the rest of his commentary focusing on Floyd.

He should of used more of his criticism for Oscar instead of Floyd.
You think he would focus on a fighter who is still active, instead of a fighter who is retired...

WHY DO PEOPLE GIVE OSCAR A PASS....!!!!
