I am guilty of only reading the first 2 paragraphs, and now see your point. I have a bad habit of exlaxing on lunacy. You made a decent imaginary point lol.

This fight is one of many that people said didn't live up to the hype. I don't go by hype. Did anyone watching this fight think that we would get 2 sluggers fighting, or 2 top of the line boxers. I'll watch a Floyd-Dlh type fight over a Margs-Cotto type fight any day of the week.

I know too many boxers who aren't making money who are my friends to not give a !~#!#$ what they make.
That's the problem. U are looking at it from a boxers perspective. U have to understand that they chose that field. Its not as if they were forced into fighting. If that was the case, then i would be as sympathetic as u are. Im a fan, and i look at the sport from a fans perspective.

It turned off so many fans that later that year, mayweather was able to sell another 850K??
And in case you didn't know, 850K domestically is very high.

You have a great point....if only it was true. Or made sense.

No, there is no problem. That is how you look at it. I have personal feelings involved so I don't think like you. I boxed.

And that's your preference. Nothing wrong with that, but im sure that "casual" fans, nor many boxing fans in general will see it the same way u do.

I don't think that it turned off a lot of people. Most people, EVEN CASUAL FANS, knew the fight was gonna be tactical. However, I don't think it really made the sport any better either. Gave it a peak, and helped Mayweather. Which is nice, but at the end of the day.. Mayweather capilatized off of that with only one fight. So, even he wasn't TREMENDOUSLY helped AFTER that fight. Not compared to what he could have made.

I guess that a little less than 2million people who payed to see Floyd's first fight were not interested in seeing his second.

That's one way of looking at it. An idiotic way.... but a way nonetheless.

He was helped to this extent:

Can you envision a fight of Floyd vs (insert any top fighter) that doesn't do massive numbers? 700K+?

What would be your projection for Mayweather-margarito?
