Where did i ever say that boxers shouldnt be paid well? I wish ALL boxers can make milions on top of millions, but at that same time, that should not be of our concern. As i've stated several times before, boxers have advisors, lawyers, promoters, managers, etc.....to worry about all of that for them. I dont know about u, but i watch boxing to see competitive, entertaining bouts. I can give 2 ****s about how much he is or isnt making. Seems to me that ONLY Floyd fans have that mentality.
Mayweather NEVER GAVE A (****) about the WW divison. BUT the WW division needed him 2

You should care because big fights are what attracts new fans and keeps the sport alive and thriving. Exposure is a pretty accurate predictor of the future of the sport.
Think back to what was happening with hockey ten years ago, and where it is now. now, reflect on what was happening with MMA and where IT is now.
If you are a fan of the sport, you would want it to grow and flourish. If you have some semblance of intelligence, you would understand that having big, mainstream events ae the vehicle to growth.Comment

As an example. If Mayweather/De La Hoya and Cotto/Margarito are fighting in the same big ass room and you have 100 fans, in the room. Now, both rings are on opposite ends of the ring, I have a feeling that WITH CASUAL FANS, you'll get a 60/40 split, with 60 going to watch the Cotto/Margarito fight.
Though, I will concede that Mayweather/De La Hoya would get more interest in the first place, at the end of the day casual fans aren't important because they're smart. They think, big name means great fight.
If they had the choice, however, knowing which fight was better, I think they'd usually go for the more entertaining fight.Comment

How do you know? This fight grossed the most money in boxing history.Comment

At the same time, you would hope that the fighters fight in tough fights. Fans want to see the fights that are going to bring the most action.

I said.. if FANS KNEW which fight would have been more exciting, I think it would have been a bit more watched. It'd called a hypothetical.Comment

But did it live up to the hype? Do u honestly feel that the casual fans who tuned in to 24/7 every week, and got all hyped up by the pre-fight antics, were all satisfied at the end of the fight? I highly doubt it.Comment
