Jones vs. Tarver 1= Roy's Best Fight...

People don't give Roy enough credit for his first fight with Tarver. To me Roy showed in that fight that he was a champion on the inside. Roy had to dig deep and he did.

Tarver bamboozled the public into believing he won, which took attention away from Roy's performance. Roy won that fight, I know I'm a Roy fan but honestly I really don't think Tarver won that fight...

Yeah, I thought he was impressive considering he was so evidently drained from the weight issues.

I don't even see how people give Tarver that fight. Close but clear decision to Jones.

Exactly. Like Larry said after the fight, he thought Roy won clearly but closely.

I think in boxing if you complain that you won enough people start believing it. Not only that but the crowd was cheering for Tarver because he did much better than expected. The crowd cheering for Tarver influenced people to believe Tarver won.

A lot of people never sall that Roy, showed me he had heart and will. Only reason I think I even seen Roy fight like he did was because his body wasn't prepared to fight like he normally does. I think if Jones would have fought Tarver THEN Ruiz. The outcome would be a lot different. I think Roy wouldn't have been pressured to fight RIGHT AFTER RUIZ and he could have taken the time off as a heavyweight champ and came back 9 to 10 months later prepared to fight someone else. I think he would have still been undefeated to this day (besides his DQ).... but hey that's just my logic on things.

Overall Jones wasn't phsyically prepared to fight Tarver the 1st go around. Reason the fight lasted and was a close decision... Jones is a legend and His heart and determination will be presented in its finniest form come November 9th..... I don't think Joe Calzaghe or ANYONE is prepared for what we will see.....
