and that is true compared to the other options you listed Pac-Oscar is the most intriguing match up, mainly because going up against such a bigger man Manny is finally the underdog for a change. (good way to sell the fight)

It will get over 1 million PPV buys guaranteed, plus another 15 million at the gate.

Yes, Its gonna look just like the Margarito Cotto fight. With DLH running through that lil guys shots. Eventually wearing him down and KOing Manny

Selling points will sell the fight.

I wouldn't doubt it. at least $1 Million is a very real possibility. they should most definitely hit that mark

consider Trinidad-Jones Jr. sold 500K and that was seen as an un necessary mismatch. (Pac-Oscar would double it at least)

and give Oscar-Pac-Man a 24/7 series, build up the drama of Freddie Roach, De La's ex trainer going against him.

Oscar going up against the Pound For Pound #1 yet again

and on top of all that, it's De La Hoya's last fight?

look at all the selling points HBO's got to work with.

Looks like another perfect storm with all that story line to make this absolutely huge, there is no way this fight will be boring thats for sure. Delahoya will be the bigger man so he won't respect Pac's power and Manny is a ball of fire always moving and throwing lightning to the body and head.

At least we can be sure it will not be another bore fest like "World awaits", what if Pac wins clearly? his next fight against Hatton would be huge.

If Delahoya dominates Manny he might feel a little froggy and may consider another fight against Margarito, who knows it will be must see TV though as far as I'm concerned.

Im not a big fan of the fight either, but I would probably by it. I like Oscar, but Pac is one of my favorite fighters and I would just like to tune in to see if Manny could actually be really competitive. Plus you know HBO will have some kind of Countdown that will get people excited about the fight and earn some buys from people that weren't thinking about getting it.

well I'll give credit where credit is due, that every Pac or DLH fight I've seen has been exciting, can't take that away from either man.

so put them against each other, and it's almost a sure thing for excitement.

HBO should be able to suck in a whole batch of casual fans this time around because Manny's actually an exciting Pound For Pound #1.

plus if Manny wins, huge upset, DLH sulks off into retirement and Pacquiao probably does go on to face Hatton (who will already have beaten Paulie at this point) and Hatton/Pac has been talked about before

then the other extreme is if DLH railroads Manny like you say, it would feel very unfulfilling and Oscar would have to fight again, or risk looking like a coward.

I'll buy it. Pacquiao have a slim and i mean very slim chance of winning. But if Pac wins, i want to watch it live on tv, even if i shell out 50 bucks.
