Last man standing

I would think that most of us will agree that there have been Four very good heavyweights in the last 17 years?
Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe & Lewis. If they all fought each other in there primes (regardless of when people think they were in their primes)who would as to use the quote be 'the last man standing'

A pre-Buster Tyson would slaughter the bunch, hands down.

No offence to these other guys, but Tyson could have been something special if he had stayed out of trouble (and/or stayed away from Don King).

Holyfield....he beat Tyson, beat Bowe, and some feel he won the second Lewis fight well after his prime.

The only reason I don't say a prime Tyson is because (I've said this before in many threads), any man that ever imposed his will on Tyson....beat him. You can say that Tyson wasn't in his prime when Holy beat him......but it's my opinion that even a prime Tyson wouldn't have beat him because Holy never feared Tyson. He manhandled Tyson in the ring....much more physical and took the fight to Tyson. Tyson was always a "bully" with great power and speed for his weight class, but he thrived on his opponent fearing him.

You may argue that Bowe beat Holyfield twice in what mant consider Holy's prime. Yes, he did.....but Holy also beat him once and I don't think Bowe could beat either a prime Lewis or a prime Tyson.

For the people that argue Lennox, I can see why....but he never fought Bowe, and he beat Holy and Tyson way way past their prime...and again the second Holy fight was very very close.

There's my opinion....and reasoning. Just one man's view.

Holyfield v. Lewis II 117-111 Lewis. It wasn't close. Bowe ducked Lewis, so did Tyson. They were ducking him for a reason...because they would have lost. And again the second Holy fight was not close. Just because he did better than he did in the first fight in which he won a single round doesn't mean that the second fight was close.

Lewis would be the last man standing. In my opinion he was the smartest fighter amongst them and when he was properly prepared for a fight he was unstopable!

Lewis fought them all, Lewis has beaten them all and he'd beat them all if he fought them again.

vs. Tyson his reach, height and underrated speed would allow him to hold Tyson at long range for most of the fight. Tyson was often very open when he tried to move in. The first time he really got punished for that was when he fought Buster Douglas. Lewis would have to pick his shots, catching Tyson with the jab and punishing him every time he tries to come too close.

vs. Holyfield he'd prove that he's the better boxer, the better puncher and simply the better man. If he plays it cool and relies on his strengths he beats prime Holyfield in a lopsided UD. I dont know when Holy was on his best as a HW though, because as a cruiser he gets crushed by Lewis.

vs. Bowe it'd be a similar fight to the one they had in the amateurs. Bowe hasn't the style to avoid Lewis bombs and doesnt have the chin to withstand them. Lennox KOs him around the 4th or 5th.

Lewis is the obvious choice. I don't think he ever feared Tyson...Lewis is too arrogant to fear anyone. He was the King of this era whether he gets credit or not.

Tyson was the most exciting by far, but never ruled like Lewis and I don't think he would have if all things were made equal.
