    This is kinda' funny, really.

What eaxctly will Cotto do "next time" to stop Margarito from walking through his best shots? Maybe Cotto should go to the body more regularly eary, so that Margarito can land more uppercuts early too?

I don't get it. Cotto put on a great show, but the pace he set for himself is exactly the pace required to beat Maragrito. I don't see Cotto lasting 12 the next time around.

funny thing i never heard magarito ask for a rematch with williams or with santos. my bad magarito said he wasnt has effective fighting at 154, i guess when your fighting guys who are just has big has you, you better have more than just a good chin and high punch volume to beat your opponents.

cotto didn't get knocked out. he took 2 knees probably to get a breather and his corner stopped the fight. I would love to see a rematch and cotto should improve his conditioning.

actually paul williams is number one, both are champs, but one champ beat the other.

Cotto got his nose broken and coudn't breathe as early as late in the first round, but still performed great for 10 more rounds. How often does a fighter get his nose broken in a championship match?...not often especially not that early. No air, no energy...that simple

The rematch should be like the first six rounds except for all twelve if Margo lasts that long and if he does he's gonna look really bad.

Cotto will win the rematch.......You know why? Because Wed night Teddy said Cotto COULD not win the rematch because of the breakdown Margarito caused in the first fight....If Teddys calls it you can bet against it.

IMO the fight will go the same way if it happened again. To be honest I though Cottos stamina had been fading in recent fights or just not as good as it could be. I was sitting on the fence on the first fight because i knew it could go either way. But I really dont see what you can improve other than stamina. Like everybody says said he was fighting the perfect fight till slowed down...I just want to see more good fights.....

I guess those devastating body shots had nothing with it....

Give me a break, you must have never fought before, fighters fight with broken noses all the time. Fighters fight with broken jaws for rounds at a time and don't quit.

Cotto wasn't gassed, he was beaten, plain and simple. He was still hitting Marg with great shots even in the eleventh round and it didn't matter. Cotto fought a near perfect fight and couldn't beat Marg, a rematch will result in him getting Ko'd even earlier.

for people to say that cotto fought the perfect fight that was far from it. if any thing he fought the wrong fight all you have to do is look at the p. willams fight and the clottey to see the strategy they implored and had success.
                    1. staying off the ropes ( hes no mayweather who could sit on the ropes all day and youll be lucky to catch him clean)
                    2.no clinching
3.way to much bouncing instead of side stepping
                    4. body to square up easier for magaritos body punching.

now i give magarito alot credit he fought a great fight he imposed his will on cotto and he studied cotto very well, he knew cotto habits and waited and exploited them (especially against the ropes) thats called watching tons of video tapes. something cotto needs to seriously consider if he is to progress has a fighter

im reminded of something larry merchant says(theres not a horse that cant be rode and theres not a rider who cant be thrown)

but in my opinion chavez came the closes to not being thrown in my lifetime (prime chavez)

Maybe the Cotto fans think Miguel came into the ring WITH a broken nose?

Maybe Margarito had nothing to do with Cotto's loss and it was simply that Cotto decided he take a couple knees to take control of the fight?
