i think margarito will be favored in the rematch, but I'd say cotto with the right adjustment, and training has a good chance in the rematch. he could win.

Cotto needs to get with Freddie Roach! trust me he would mesh well with Cottos style Roach knows how to fight mexicans he has trained them and he trained manny on how to beat many of them.
Roach will make Cotto do more Body work and lateral side stepping similar to how pacman used against diaz.

I think Cotto can beat Margarito in a rematch but he would have to fight a perfect fight for 12 rounds because Margarito's style will always give him problems.

Better footwork and a new trainer that can motivate him to go that extra mile in everything he does would beat Margarito. Cotto already knows what he's up against and what Margarito's made of. Cotto should be able to time and counter better next time around.

its very funny how even though margarito dominated the fight people are taking away his much deserved respect and acknowledgment. Cotto fought a hell of a fight and if it was any other fighter they would not have made it pass the 6th. But margarito had control of the fight. he was never hurt and his punches were hurting cotto and making him panic and afraid to exchange. margarito will not ever lose to cotto for the simple fact cotto will always gas out trying to find a way to hurt him. and marg's punches will ware him down just like they did. Marg over cotto in a rematch hands down!!!!! margs pressure burst cotto's pipes!!!!!

dude Cotto was baiting margarito that was the wrong strategy.
If Cotto didnt get his nose busted so early he wouldnt be as gassed he had trouble breathing.
If he got with Roach they would use a similar technique on how pacman beat up solis body head combo and side step you have to confuse margarito touch him when he looks down and touch him when he looks up confuse him so he doesnt know where to go.
Margarito is a slow ass mu****a and thats the truth the only time he hit cotto real good was when cotto was laying on the ropes and margarito was throwing those uppercuts thru the gloves while he held cottos head down.

I guarantee you that if Cotto gets with Roach he will be Margarito...Evangelista didnt even talk with his nephew during camp.
Cotto does not take orders from him he needs a guy like roach who has great game plans.

Rematch will ruin Cotto (if he is not ruined already).

First of all, Cotto had no workable gameplan. He was absolutely wrong with going to the ropes cause Tony never fades during his onslaught. Cotto also wanted 8 ounces altough he could insist on 10 ounces and NSAC would back him and not change their rules.

The truth: Cotto is simply dumb. All the observers praising his ring intelligence were blind.

He had to stay in the middle and use legs more. He had not to wait on the ropes for openings that never come, but to attack himself and use roughhose tactics - yeah, a bit of wrestling - everything to disrupt Tony's rithm.

But I don't believe he can do that, his footwork is no way Floyd's or Hop's one, he lacks raw power to wrestle competitively with Tony. He was no better than old Mosely in this department. And he lacks stamina for both working first and wrestling.

only way i see Cotto beating Margo is if he works on his stamina and endurance.
