Roach: "No way Pacquaio fights DLH I care about him to much"

(Reuters) Freddie Roach has publicly stated that he will not train Manny Pacquaio if he signs to fight Oscar De La Hoya. Roach has stated that his decision stems from initial reports that Teddy Atlas is leaning towards Pacquaio and will be picking him to defeat Oscar De La Hoya.

Roach: "No way Pacquaio fights DLH I care about him too much to put him in there against such odds."

Instead Roach will be looking to setup a Dec bout with Pavlik where his chances are better since preliminary reports indicate Teddy will pic Kelly and as Roach put it "Pacquaio can at least have a fair shot."

Neither Pacquiao or Teddy Atlas could be reach for comment.
