They're called ear plugs, it's basically just larger gauge ***elry worn in a streched hole. I have them myself.

And it's not just an Aztec tradition, many African tribes use them as well. The meaning is different from tribe to tribe.

That'd be me. They have tons of different meaning from culture to culture, depends on where you are really or what your roots are.

Most people seem to have a deep bond with them, but a lot do it just because it looks "cool". It really depends.
