Boxing at the 2008 Olympic Games......

Anyone have any favorites or people from their homelands they want to discuss.....

I do....Demitrius Andrade will win Gold for the U.S. Team at 152....I have little question about that without even knowing **** about who he may face or what other coutries have to offer.

I'm obviously Biased because my current 5th favorite fighter was poised to make that spot on the team but was beaten by Andrade by decision twice in the trials.....Keith thurman in the meantime moved to Pro at the tender age of 18 and has gone on to a 6-0 with 6 1st round Kos. His style is better suited for the pros anyway but this Andrade Kid is no joke. He is a great young boxer with incredible defense.......Look out for both of these guys at 147-164 in the years to come.

I'm cheering for Frankie Gavin from Birmingham, England.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankie_Gavin_(boxer)

I've met him a few times he's a very tallented boxer. He won the gold in the World Amatuer Championships. He also did sparring with Amir Khan.

If they've let Yanez back on I'm happy to hear that. It seems he had a legit excuse to be late reporting....He's a nice fighter too.

Yeah Luis is back on the team, I'm really glad too. He's a talented kid, seen him fight a few times since I live a few minutes from him. I also like Rau'shee(sp) Warren, he's great too.
