I think mentally he didn't quit because he isnt that kind of guy, but he was physically tired and had nowhere else 2 go, i think he was exhausted and knew that margz was jus gonna keep on comin no matter what he did..so i wouldn't say he quit because he wanted 2 continue, his corner threw in the towel, he was just mentally and physically tired

Im not a professional fighter so I don't try call these guys quitters because I haven't experienced what they go through myself.

your arguement is beyond weak, its PATHETIC!!!

so your saying because some mug of the street that isn't a boxer
would quit in a fight against margarito its okay for cotto (who is a boxer)
      to quit??

if you can't tell when someones quitting by using your eyes your a ******!!

COTTO RAN AWAY AND TOOK A SECOND KNEE DOWN INSTEAD OF FIGHTING BACK OR TAKING THE PUNCHES!!

THAT MEANS HE DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT ANYMORE,
WHICH IS ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING HE QUIT, WHICH IS A WAY OF SAYING HE **** IN HIS PANTS

by your child like logic if you can't say he quit without "experiencing it"
you cant say he didnt quit either can you??

I guess i will some it up and look after the knockout.

He went to the ground on his own accord, he noticed his corner comming(usaly fighters will get angry to play it off) which he did not. he wanted to quit and he did so with great fasion and an attempt to save face.

he took off so quick from the ring from sheer disappointment, usaly great champs even in a huge loss always will remain in the ring and do interviews.

this guy felt like **** because he quit and let his people down, so he felt like he had no dignatiy and took off running, well walking swiftly

            100% accurate!!

            i agree completely!

in the later rounds cotto keeps looking to his corner men and in boxing that is known as a sign of distress

Cotto did exactly what he should have done and to call him a quitter is BS. He was beaten and exhausted to the point where he couldn't continue. Why should he continue to fight when Margs wasn't even close to slowing down and he was basically out. He would have just taken more unnecessary punches that he couldn't stand to take. I don't think anybody on here calling him a quitter has been in a fight or in the position where they don't have a chance.

Look there is nothing wrong with quitting, if you can not beat some one, and your getting clobbered. takes a man to say **** dude your better then i'am, let me take the hell off.

before my wife needs to see me more hurt.

if all fighters had your mentality there would be no such thing as boxing legends

just a sport full of cowards

That's the thing I think he could have continued. Marg just scared him man, Cotto's never fought anybody who he just couldn't hurt. He didn't know what to do anymore, so I think he just said man let me just take a knee and get the **** outtta here.
