    Why PPV?

okay I'd like to get away from all the excessive Cotto-Margarito posts, although it's still an interesting topic

and branch away to start another topic.

    so here's the question.

I've always wanted to know why boxing is one of the few sports to almost exclusively use PPV in broadcasting of it's fights.

(granted the PPV's are once a month and for argument's sake you can make a case that HBO and Showtime do show a good portion of the fights on there channel, but that's premium cable, a whole nother story)

so why does boxing do it?

you don't think some of that popularity has to do with accessibility?

if it's on ESPN ABC or etc, more people will have access to it.

but I see boxing as an incredibly hard sport to market, but that's just me.

and if "money rules everything" why don't the other sports (baseball, basketball, football) use PPV, rather then show most of there big games (all star, playoffs) on basic cable?

My question is why the **** are they going to put that Casamayor/Marquez fight on PPV?

Lol. Only an idiot would buy that ****.

that's what i mean, but guy's feel free to engage more and I will explain that opinion of "boxing hard to market" if you want

I only created this topic in response to something I saw
on the "Official Sopcast link" which said

"buy the fight, support the sport"

                anyway carry on.

                  I agree.

The only reason why I'm watching it is because I know someone who gets free PPV.
