Skill wise he may be, he has a tight defense, solid offense, great chin, and he is very quick. I believe Cotto's offense may be stronger, but I really am not sure. If they were to fight that would surely settle it though

Who is the best welterweight that Clottey ever beat? He hasn't even beat Judah yet, and Cotto already destroyed him. Mosley and Quintana are miles better than anyone Clottey ever beat. He didn't almost beat Margarito. The scores weren't even close.

No, Clottey's best win was against who? No offense to Clottey, until he proves me wrong, Cotto is better than Clottey.

Clottey handle Margarito better then Cotto did. Clottey is almost like a prime B-Hop in that I mean he comes in with a tight guard and throws short powerful hooks.

As Benny said in another thread, he won 4 rounds and lost a decision, Cotto won at least 5 rounds and lost, the 5 rounds he won were way more dominant than what Clottey was able to do against Margarito.

When he has a win over a top welterweight, then maybe comparisons can be made.

Also Margarito was clearly a better fighter against Cotto than he was against Clottey. He went into that fight off a long layoff with a bad ankle. Against Cotto he was at his peak.

I've been saying this for months. I am mystified why Clottey gets so many props. He's a nice fighter but I've seen him gas out more than once and barely hang on, and this wasn't even Margarito he was fighting.
He's got a durable chin but he seems to always fade late.
He doesn't seem to have any mind numbing power either which is something that if he had I can see guys considering him a huge threat. But he doesn't have that.

And now he's some sort of killer.
Just can't understand the hype machine surrounding him.

I'm kind of surprising myself and hoping that Judah knocks his ass out.
