yeah. this is the most important ww fight. it will settle who is the top dog. the only thing is, if an oscar deal comes, margarito should take it. thats the golden ticket. win or lose, williams will be there afterwards, and at this stage in de la hoya's career, i think margarito would most likely win, although De La Hoya has the tools to make it competitive even at this stage in the game!

Yeah thats true I dont blame him for going for the payday.. But I wouldnt totally rule out Delahoya winning.. He's been fighting at 154 for years now and has a great chin himself and a great left hook. So lets not count him out.

      • margarito doesnt want to fight paul williams again, if he did he would have demanded a rematch right after he lost, paul said he would give him one. you heard want his manager said he beat in sparring sessions, beat in a real fight, and he'll do it again.

my grandparents live in aventura by miami and i'd love to spar you next time im down there to visit then. not a threat, but i'll need to find a gym to get some work in at when i'm down in december anyway and we could go a few rounds... what gym you train at?!? I'll definately come through with my gear when i'm in town. you can get at me on pm, though i dont know if that'll work after i put you on ignore...

as for your question, paul did win the last round. big deal- that doesn't really contradict my point. he worked hard to land more punches on his 2nd wind and emptied his tank to accomplish what he needed tactilly to win the boxing match... it was an impressive display.

regardless, margarito was not hurt at all, yet paul was physically getting weary and his eye was all torn up. unlike tony, he WAS feeling the effects of the other man's punches. if there were three more rounds, tony could have finished him imo, but really, thats all academic in the modern 12 round fight game though cause we'll never know for sure what WOULD have been.

regardless, i have my money on margarito in the rematch. its a fight we know that he will get up for. that dude is not giving up the belt and he will go through hell and back to keep it. and no im not mexican or a "rican *****" as your prejudice, ignorant ass put it, so i am not biased. i just enjoy watching gutsy warriors box at the highest level of the game, and for what tony lacked in skill, he made up in will.

and btw, i don't see how you're '****ing me up' over the internet. you gonna electronically knock me out dude? thats some of the most ******ed **** I've ever heard. stop playing yourself and broadcasting your immaturity on a public forum. Its just embarassing...

Yea, you're right. I shouldnt have let this douchebag get to me. this guy is probably a just a 13 year old kid, but that internet bravado **** really irritates me. cats talk **** on boxers who are warriors and are tough as nails.... guys that would literally get knocked into a coma with one jab. i feel the same way about non-boxing critics like ron borges and dan rafael sometimes....

I'm'a chill though. I said my piece, and now I'm'a put that ****** on ignore...

first of all I didnt call you a rican *****, I was referring more to all the haughty cotto fans on this board before july 26th. They turned me off to Cotto big time. They stopped down to the level of the Margarito fans, and I'm glad they look ****** now with egg on their face. Just like they went on and on about Williams being a bum after getting outboxed against Quintana. Now I wasnt saying that Cotto is soft. He just aint as hard as we all thought he was. It aint his fault. He is a real welterweight, and he will have trouble against the big ass welters. Now I aint so sure he can outright beat Cintron due to Cintron's one punch power. Trust me buddy, Cotto needs to answer alot of questions in his next few fights. Hopefully he dont turn in to a Camacho.

2nd of all, we're the exact same age. Just to call me a 13 year old or some ****, just goes to show you aint serious about sparring. You just trying pump your head up, and the **** we gonna spar down here when you got me on ignore? huh? how about that? This whole message is all for not, since you got me on ignore supposedly. Not my fault your ***** hurt. You gonna say something ignorant, I gotta check you. You got a big mouth and a sensitive ego. And I will **** your ass up. I am in good shape right now. 6'3 186 lbs, and I been in the gym. I take a hell of a shot too. I havent been wobbled or shaken up yet. I been frustrated by some really good boxers in my gym(Tropical Park on Bird Rd), but I know I'll handle your big mouth no problem. W/E just set it up when you get down here. LOL at you saying you need time to prepare. It aint about disrespecting Cotto, he got his own medicine. I like Cotto and felt really bad for him. I just dont respect bitches like you with a big mouth and think they are right all the time. I said something to you and you said something to me but at least give me a counter arguement instead of questioning my heart over the internet(which is weak) when you're not in my face to question it. Peace.

p/s: dont forget to bring me something to eat. I like mines with lots of salt and pepper.

          • i would love to see Margarito get his revenge on PW but first i wanna see Margarito whoop Oscar's ass in December! and then next spring fight Williams. also reading the article i had forgot about the possibility of williams fighting Winky, that would be an intersting fight to see how williams would match up with the defense of winky wright. would be good set up fights for both fighters before they fight eachother again...

He blew him out in one round the second time. How can you tell if he's improved or he just went for it quickly the second time and got it done?

I know lots of fighters that look sparkling in 1 round blowouts but show their flaws when they are in there with someone that won't go away.

PWill got a great shot off in the second fight, it wasn't like he was showing amazing skill. He got some great shots off quick.

With Margs, you know Margs will be there and isn't caving in 1.
The question is, does WILLIAMS fight Marg like he did the first time, or have that lazy impotent jab he had against Quintana the first time.

I'd love for this fight to happen.
What Williams showed in the second Quintana fight is that he became a BETTER BOXER. You're underestimating Williams he just didn't get lucky off one punch, he was tagging Quintana from the beginning of the round. Paul Williams has amazing skills, he wouldn't be ranked in the top 5 welterweights if his boxing skills were sub-par. The scary thing is he will only get better.

How is catchign someone with a shot and finishing them mean you are better BOXER??

the fight lasted one round ..lol
