First off, it was a classic fight. It will be remembered for eternity. Bert Sugar said that this fight would most probably turn into a trilogy. And i'm hoping it will.
Second, this is in no way disrespecting Antonio Margarito. He fought a great fight. He had a good strategy. He executed it well and won the fight in a great way.
Antonio Margarito is just too big for cotto. 5'11. Miguel Cotto has a lot of balls to fight a guy like Margarito who has been ducked by several "greats" like de la hoya and mayweather. Margarito has an iron chin and is a big puncher. So, please stop hating cotto all you margarito fans. He gave margarito a good chance, which nobody gave. So, hopefully margarito gives cotto a chance too.
Now, let's go to cotto's mistakes in this fight.
1. He needs to change his trainer. Evangalista cotto kept on telling miguel cotto to stop going to the ropes etc. and miguel cotto never listened to his advice. I think the tension between cotto and his uncle is getting really awkward and this is why cotto was listening to his uncle's advice.
2. He needs to stop taking too many shots. He has good reflexes and defence and he should use them even more. He took too many uppercuts from margarito. keep ur hands up cotto
3. I think he got a little discouraged by margarito not getting hurt when cotto was landing crisp heavy shots on margarito. And cotto needs to realize that it's okay if margarito does not get hurt, because margarito has an iron chin.
4. Also, where were the body shots cotto?
Cotto will come back like a champion. I KNOW IT.
