Margarito is a big welter, but not ridiculously so. When he went up to to 154 he couldn't cut it and so if he can make 147, which he has been doing for a long time and can still do at 30, he has every right to do so. He isn't a coward at all.

If you train like an animal and have an excellent nutritional program, you get the spoils. Alot of fighters don't want to train as hard or don't have the proper nutrition program to cut weight effectively, so instead they go up to make weight. Margarito is known for his legendary conditioning program, and come fight night, is where his advantage's standout.
