Mayweather started his career in 96 and Cotto started his in 2001. What does accomplishments have to do with this fight? And I've never discredited Floyd in the lower weight classes.. what I have always said is he can't call himself the best welterweight without fighting the best welterweights. Cotto was the best welterweight and he did not fight him.. he did not fight Williams, he did not fight Margarito. At least Cotto had the balls to get in the ring and fight him.
Last night proved that skills alone don't always pay the bills.. look at the punch stats and who landed the more segnificant punches.. it was Cotto. Margarito took his best shot and with some balls and a iron chin kept coming and did what he had to do to get a great win.
This does not mean that Cotto was over rated over hyped or over anything.. this simply means that Margarito proved himself against the best and was the better man that night.
For only being in the business 7 years.. Cotto has a great career so far and in no way is he done.
You better hope that Mayweather stays retired and never comes back and loses because you are just building yourself up to get ripped as well.. and I don't put as much emphasis on a loss like you do.. I don't see it as the end of the world.
You whoever do. you focus everything around being undefeated.. If Mayweather ever lose that 0.. which he can, it's not impossible.. How will you take the loss?

I can respect this post. In fairness I warn this would happen...
and i know if Floyd loses to would happen to me. Thats the responsibility you take when you put your name by a fighter like I have done. but I have done it for good reasons... Because i know that no fighter Alive 154 on down can beat Floyd in this generation...

the problem i had was Some cotto fans took the same approach i took with Mayweather towards cotto. when they Knew Cotto was not no where near as polish as mayweather,,,

There can only be 1, number # 1 fighter in the world...
and Some cotto fans did not realize that...
