Even though Margarito has one of the best chins Ive ever seen, no man can continue to take head shots like that forever and since Cotto has hit him the hardest and the most, whenever Margarito begins to slow down, people will point back to the Cotto fight.
Cotto's Stock Will Raise When Margarito Starts To Slow Down

I know, people say they want a fighter to trade and dont like Floyd's style. They say they loved Gatti, but how much do you hear people still talk about him? They dont, he gave his life basically in the ring and people only care for that moment, nobody even really talk about him. Gatti mumbles and who knows how he will be in five years.Comment

I agree that health wise, this fight was VERY hard on Margarito's brain. Just because you are not "hurt" by punches, does not mean that your brain is not being sloshed around inside your skull.
Margarito's brain took a walloping last night, and I have a feeling he will be showing the effects of it in the next few months. Its quite interesting. Most of the damage to the brain after a fight comes in the two weeks after the fight.
The dead and dying brain cells send of messages to the brains undertaker that they need to be removed. Unfortunately the undertaker is not too bright and instead of only removing the dead cells takes out huge numbers of its neighbors as well.
However, I am doubtful that any amount of brain damage will really effect Margarito's ability to fight.
With most fighters, degradation in their reflexes seriously impact their ability to fight, Margarito has no reflexes to begin with. He is one of the least coordinated fighters in boxing.
I know this sounds strange, but Margarito is literally so bad that he is immune to the effects brain damage usually has on a fighter. There are simply no skills there to be eroded.
So long as Margarito can continue to take a punch, and can maintain his stamina, he can win fights.Comment

and when he lost to Floyd they disregard all of his wins and titles he got and call him a bum.
