Miguel Cotto: "I Will Return, It Was Margarito's Night"

In the aftermath of being battered and knocked out in eleven-rounds by Antonio Margarito at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Miguel Cotto said that he would continue his career and return to the ring in better form. He offered no excuses for the loss and said it was simply Margarito's night. [details]

Anyone willing to discredit anyone after this fight, isn't a real boxing fan.

Let's hope this fight ain't ruined him. Like I said before... the body usually can only absorb such a punishment with winning...

Cotto made nothing wrong... you just have a small chance of winning against a guy who is taller and doesn't get hurt by your punches. It's a lethal combination. The same will happen to Pac against DLH. Cotto also has to work on his defence. To hold your arms up is good... but still if you get hammered against the arms it always pushes back to your head.

Cotto's deffense was great, just not enough offense against Margarito, that's the best Cotto I've seen so far, slipped a lot of punches and was more tired than hurt at the end. I think that busted nose took a lot outta him as well.
He has the winners mentality, lets see if he comes back.

Great fight. Props to both fighters. I still think Cotto is too much for anybody else. He lost tonight but he can still beat most. As far as Margarito, I had no doubt he would win but Cotto made sure he earned it.

Yeah his defence was good as he slipped punches... but later on he ain't did that anymore. He was just standing there... with his gloves before his eyes and even leaning forward. It's simply a difference if you get hit by guys that are afraid of what comes back and if you get hit by some1 who isn't hurt by your punches. You have to defend different. No, denying it... I loved what I have seen from Cotto and if you could have hurt Marga we wouldn't talk about Marga now... but he couldn't. So he has a lot more left to learn to become great. But he has the tools... skill wise Marga wasn't in his league but hey... Cotto will come back and after a tune up fight he will fight him again. This time Cotto will win with the exception of course been, if he got nothing left. They say: If it is beating outta your body it's gone. He now knows that he can't hurt him... that is going to make a big difference.
