2501 will just come on here saying how Cotto is better than Mayweather because he had the balls to fight a guy with 5 losses

Edner Cherry knocked your boy out cold. Go watch wrestling exclusively cause you obviously know nothing about boxing.

If Cotto would have won it would have been a lot better for boxing IMO.. it didnt happen though so not like it matters now.
That's true. Respect goes out for both especially Margarito for putting pressure over and over and not letting Cotto dictate the fight nor pressure him in like he does with most boxers. I think Cotto should be respected also since he was winning IMO on the scorecards going into the 11th round. All the "Cotto got exposed" threads need to stop.

It's all a sport and enough respect has to go out to the competitors, because if it were not for them then boxing wouldn't be what it is now. Especially guys like Cotto who was dominant and STILL has an amazing career before this fight. No one is unstoppable, there will always be a better, stronger, and more skilled opponent then you when it isn't your night...

I think if Cotto were to win, it would obviously boost his ranking and dominance to the max but more so prove that it would take a lot to beat someone like him, yet Margarito knew his game plan, had an iron chin and was making it difficult for Cotto to hurt him. He put on pressure, backing away Cotto at almost every instance and kept the punch ratio in the latter rounds of the fight.

Great showing from both boxers, but this is what we love to see so enough of the hating on Cotto, he should be congratulated for giving Margarito a the chance to face him since few did and giving us great fights in his career like this one while moving boxing up and making it that much more interesting in the welterweight division for all fans...
