[The Coalition Network®] Too Much Pre-Fight Emphasis On Cotto's Bodywork:

Which makes his body-punching seem severely overrated now, when it shouldn't be.

He's one of the better exponents of that art.

But I knew he wouldn't be able to hurt Margarito to the body tonight.

Whereas the Cottocreeps were talking about Cotto leaving craters in Margarito's torso.

They made theyselves look like idiots by talking in ways that would make you think everyone who ever fought Cotto left the ring with a ruptured spleen and all they ribs busted like tree twigs.

    SERIOUSLY

I think I counted 14 body punches thrown by Cotto in the whole fight. He normally throws more than that in any given round. Why he didn't go to the body is one of the biggest questions I have right now. Had he invested in the body early, I doubt Margarito would've had enough left in him to be so active late in the fight and would've given Cotto the best chance to win last night.

Maybe he wasn't feeling it? Maybe his gameplan never included going to the body (which would be ******)? Maybe he was too interested in boxing to stop and sit down on a few body punches here and there? He had plenty of opportunities to throw to the body when they were in close and neither of them were throwing anything. He just blew those opportunities.
