...but not like that. Antonio Margarito just mauled him, that edited piece at the end of the fight from the HBO truck really made me feel bad for Cotto. I've been wanting to see him lose ever since he low blowed my boy Judah last year, and I was hoping Margarito would put the beat down on his ass tonight....but not like that.
To see his face so mangled from the punishment, with blood flowing everywhere, and him standing in his corner just spitting out mouthfuls of blood, with his kids and wife watching ringside....Jesus, I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
The type of beating Cotto took from Margarito tonight is the kind you don't see too often in boxing, thankfully. It's unnerving to watch that kind of brutality even if you're aq diehard fan like myself. I honestly wonder if Miguel Cotto will be able to come back from this kind of beatdown, and if he does, what kind of condition he'll be in.
On a side note, mad respect to Antonio Margarito. He never gave up, never stopped coming forward, never stopped throwing punches, in typical Mexican fashion. That is why I love Mexican fighters so much, and it's great to see Antonio finally get what he has rightfully deserved for so many years now.
Oh yeah, and my girlfriend (huge Cotto fan) thinks Margarito is simply not human.
