Just happy to see Margarito get the respect he deserves.I hope now everyone will see what his long time fans have seen in him.Much respect to Cotto he fought a great fight and showed alot of skill and heart.
T -97 you are a good guy. You even made that Margarito sig for Tony fans.
Much respect.
Thanks,
I do like Margarito tbh, But i really felt Cotto would be too skilled and versatile for him. I am keeping Cotto as my avatar though, One loss does not make you a bad fighter.

Yes, sincere congratulations, Margarito was just great yesterday. Awesome chin (if only Cotto had that same chin) and not even the slightest cut or really swollen face after all the hits, cause that's how I thought it would end by TKO in favor of Cotto.
As a huge Cotto-fan, I'm still gutted by seeing him broken down like this. And he was actually looking great to win this on the scorecard for 8-9 rounds, but the pressure by Tony was just relentless. So instead of ging on to dominate the welterweight-division (there was no need to be scared about Clottey or a Judah-rematch, same with Williams or Berto, in my opinion) and a possible superfight with De la Hoya, his future is a bit of a question mark now.
But it's not the "0" that makes you a great boxer, it's how you get up after and learn from losses, especially as devastating as yesterday's. Look no further than Margarito to see that the losses column in your record is not the primary indicator of quality as a boxer. I just hope he comes back. I have the feeling he has a lot to think about after this fight and I wouldn't be surprised if he'd finally split ways with his uncle.
So congratulations to everyone, who put a lot on the line by predicting this outcome. But also respect to Cotto for not taking the easy road and giving Margarito a shot and the fans a great battle with blood, sweat and tears although he had more to lose (title and unbeaten record) than to win. I hope Tony remembers that someday when thinking about a possible rematch.
