Maybe am wrong but cintron didnt retract his thoughts on the fight, He still said he thought Margarito would be too much for Cotto but he went into details on how he thinks Margarito has the edge.

Be objective Mate, Because Cintron didnt pick Cotto doesnt mean he is a sore loser, Judah got knocked out by Cotto...He could have picked Margarito and say Cotto isnt all that and make excuses etc the low blow but he didnt he picked Cotto.

Usually the knee-jerk reaction for fighters who've previously faced one of the combatants is to dismiss their abilities and understate their own performance - example, Zab could've said "Cotto's not that good, he just caught me on a bad night, but I was still able to hurt him."

Sometimes, fighters go the other way - like when Floyd, after dominating and stopping Philip N'Dou, insisted that N'Dou and Victoriano Sosa would rule the lightweight division, while in the same breath dismissing Jose Luis Castillo.

Personally, I thought Zab gave an objective pre-fight anaylsis of this matchup.

Agreed, So many fighter do go the other way by dismissing someone they have just lost to, By making excuses...i remember Barrera did that after he lost to pacman the first time saying Morales would beat Pacman because Pacman caught him on a bad night.
