What Happeneds To Floyd If Margarito Wins?

Weve talked about alot of different things on here regarding Cotto/Margarito/Mayweather but I dont think weve specifically talked about what will happened to Floyd if Margarito wins. Im really talking about his legacy. Its obvious that people dont like Floyd for many different reasons but the thing people are talking about the most is how Floyd retired because he's scared of Cotto or if Floyd will come back eventually if Cotto keeps on winning. I think if Cotto wins then this will no doubt continue and alot of fans and media will continue to belittle Floyd non stop. Even Arum has been running his mouth about Cotto-Floyd which is so strange to me. Has anyone else thought about that with Arum? Why does he keep talking about Cotto when it comes to Floyd and not Margarito? Its like Arum is rooting for Cotto to win and not even hiding it. I would be pissed if I was Margarito.

Anyways, my point is I think things change alot regarding Floyd if Margarito wins. The reason is that Cotto would be a undefeated guy with alot of good wins so people who hate Floyd can always say things about Floyd being scared and retiring without fighting this beast. However, if Margarito wins then its a great win but we are still talking about a guy who recently lost to Santos & Williams and isnt ranked in anyone's top 10 P4P. I dont mean that in a diss way because Margarito would obviously still be a beast if he wins but my point is that I think Mayweather's legacy goes way up even in the haters & the medias eyes because they know that Margarito isnt a legend either way. Do you see what Im saying? You can make a big deal about Floyd running away from a undefeated Cotto with alot of big names on his resume but I think alot of the overwhelming dissing on Floyd goes away if the 5 loss Margarito wins this fight, despite how much the media loves him.

I think people are upset that Floyd didnt fight Margarito but there still isnt a super huge demand for that fight even if Margarito wins but if Cotto wins then there is a super super super super huge demand for a Cotto-Floyd fight. I as a Floyd fan also hopes that Cotto wins because theres still always a chance for that mega fight but if Margarito wins then I think Floyd's legacy is set even for the haters & media. it will be looked at in a total differnt light. If Cotto wins then alot of guys will still say that Floyd has to come back and fight this guy eventually but if Margarito wins then I dont see many people saying that Floyd has to fight him to be great. Thats my point.

Dude Floyd is retired, I don't even want to hear his name anymore. Let him fade into Oblivion, it's the best for boxing at the moment. The winner of this bout can arguably be the best WW right now. A bout with PW will solidify who numero uno is unanimously.

Hopkins said he was done after his fight with JT and we still talked about him.

Floyd = best fighter alive, even if he's not in the ring right now. If a few more months go by and he hasn't made any comments or hints about a possible return then we can write him off.... but as it stands, there's no reason to pretend he doesn't exist.

You say that now, but I'm watching Cotto-Mosley and I really want to see Cotto-Mayweather right now. It'll probably be like that tommorrow too.

I agree with the top post.

              I want to see Mayweather-Cotto.

But I expect to see Margarito win tomorrow night.

And if that happens --- the wheels fall off the Floyd = Coward bandwagon.

DLT, sometime i wonder if you are only a Floyd fan and not a boxing fan.

Cotto just started fighting the top fighters and everything in the past is hype. I know Floyd knows about that.

Margarito if he wins can become a legend. Being a legend doens't have anything to do with Popularity it what you did as a fighter that has people talking. IF Margarito wins then people will talk about Margarito. And if i've said it before him fighting Margarito will haunt him because, "Margarito will be, THE LAST MAN STANDING!"

Cotto will not lose cause this fight is bribed cause if arum always rooting for cotto and not for margo maybe he gave to margarito good money and told him "you must fall in rd..." and when cotto wins by knockout it will make him bigger and another reason to say that cotto fights the bests and floyd is coward, and all this is for taking floyd out of retirement, but when floyd beats him down the line it will make him biger and better.
