maybe your just a rookie to the game and dont understand the types of power a man can have. there is one punch ko power where a guy can put you on your ass with one shot. these are men who are not necessarily the most powerful punchers but they have good power. what makes there shots so strong is the speed with which they throw them. a lot of times the opponent doesnt see the shot coming and those are the shots that will put your lights out.

margarito has true power. this means he is a man who very heavy handed and every shot he throws is going to hurt you. the reason the opponents dont go down so quick is because they are ready for the shots when they come but they get severly buzzed by the punches anyway. so they opponent will usually just be out on his feet. the reason these type of punchers are the most lethal in boxing is that they usually have there opponent very hurt but still on his feet and then the opponent is unable to properly defend himself and takes even more brutal punishment. this is the reason many of margaritos opponents have been forced to retire after feeling his power or were just shells of there former selves after the fight. the damage you do to your opponent after the fight is the true mark of a fighters power and i guarantee if cotto dares to step into hell with margarito he will not be the same after saturday night!!!

heavyweights have enough power that any punch can knock the other guy out. that does not apply to the lower divisions. educate yourself.
