Jermaine Taylor vs Jeff Lacey in November

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP)—Jermain Taylor appears headed for a November fight with former IBF super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy.

“There’s not any official announcement yet, but that’s what’s going to happen,” Lou DiBella, Taylor’s promoter, told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The fight is likely to take place Nov. 15. The Arkansas ********-Gazette reported details of the super middleweight fight in Thursday morning’s edition.

Taylor was the middleweight champion for more than two years after beating Bernard Hopkins in 2005. He lost that title to Kelly Pavlik late last year, then lost a catch-weight rematch with Pavlik in February.

Lacy, who lost his title to Joe Calzaghe in 2006, rallied over the final two rounds to beat Epifanio Mendoza in a 10-round majority decision Wednesday night.

Taylor (27-2-1) and Lacy (24-1) were teammates on the U.S. Olympic team in 2000.

Damn, I guess no one is interested in the potential matchup. Anyways I see Taylor winning via stoppage. Lacey will get caught coming in on the longer limbed Taylor. Lacey is a ruined fighter.

              This is good news...

Im glad to see Taylor will be coming back to fight.

I see him winning this by a late fight stoppage over lacey.

Maybe the loser should retire in this one although I did love Taylor's effort for 70% of the Pavlik rematch. I thought he won based on cleaner, effective punching, but I probably need to score that again before I write it in stone. Still, Taylor had TONS of chances to get it together through his fights with Wright, Ouma, and Spinks and never learned how to use his tools. So yeah loser should retire

Jeff Lacy will come out strong as usual, but if Taylor keeps his cool and he doesn't get caught, I can see him putting a boxing clinic on this guy going into the early middle rounds all the way towards the end.
