They were seperated by two weight classes. There was some talk about it, but it was never gonna happen.

trinidad would have killed one of our mexican heroes. thank goodness it didnt happen!!! in chavez prime it would have been an interesting matchup although to be honest i think trinidad would have beat him at that time too...

trindad to big and strong at welter for my childhood hero chavez.

trindad starting making noise at welter when chavez was on the decline.

I don't really think he wanted to move up to welterweight because he knew the fighters there were too big for him, he only moved up to welterweight becuase he felt there was unfinished business between him and DLH.

I'm not sure if he was still with Don King at the time either, I know their relationship was somewhat strained so maybe that also had something to do with it.

May sound like a ****** question. We all know that Chavez Sr is is very durable. Would Tito win a U.D or by K.O?

At the time when I first heard it could happen, Chavez was already on his way down and Trinidad was pretty much in his prime. I remember hoping it wouldn't happen. I think Trinidad would've ko'd him.

The timing was off. It just wouldn't have been competitive when they were both in the same weight class. Prime for prime even I think Chavez struggles at best with Tito, but by the time they were welterweights together Tito was about to peak and Chavez had stopped really being relevant.
