MANILA – A beautiful day to you all. I hope you’re all in a nice situation like yours truly.

Perhaps you have also joined the guessing game of who my next opponent would be or if our fight with Oscar De La Hoya would proceed this December or November. I know that there is widespread speculation in the various news stories if our fight with the Golden Boy of Boxing would happen and that there are a lot of people following this, including the worldwide media.

Right now, there is still no final decision about our fight because there’s still no agreement and the people that are supposed to make the decision about the fight still haven’t faced each other formally. I have plenty of trust in my promoter, Top Rank Promotions headed by Mr. Bob Arum, that he would be able to give me the best match up and agreement for my next fight.

If there’s an agreement with the right conditions and terms, I think it’s not impossible that I would face the boxer that I once idolized, Oscar De la Hoya. Yes, I once said to him that I admire all his accomplishments in the ring as a boxer and as a businessman.

Yet like I always say, I am a boxer and it is my job to prepare and to train for my next fight. While it’s true that I have the final say and the signature for a fight to proceed, there are a lot of people whose opinions I trust for a match to go on.

I fully trust Coach Freddie when he says we have a good chance of beating Oscar Dela Hoya. Despite his size, reach and other advantages, I believe we have a fair chance, too, in winning if we finally decide on which weight division are we fighting. Aside from Mr. Arum, I also have my family and other important people in my team to give me added information why or why not we should push through with a fight with Mr. Dela Hoya.

If all are in agreement, I have the final decision and most of the time, a fight proceeds because of the fact that I don’t back out and that I’m not afraid of any fighter.

That’s why on Thursday, my family including my wife and kids will head to the States for a vacation and for the opportunity to talk with my promoter about the next plan.

I believe that with deep prayers to the Lord our God, we can make the right decision and fate in the next few days. I know that God will give me the sound mind and make the right decision in this kind of opportunity.

Right now, the one thing we have to do is to wait and to enjoy together with my family, most of all my children who are included in the sacrifices I make for every fight, because they are always left behind in the Philippines while I’m training for more than two months most of the time.

Until the next Combination. God bless us all.

wow Pac is a intelligent dude and class.

Good Article he wrote He is a Very Brave guy, I guess for him growing up in a violent ****** guerilla area was more scary then fighting a bigger man in the ring. So Pacman does not fear the challenge.

While us Americans are mostly scared of the thought lol we look at this like he will die but again it is a sport and these fighters are a special breed, while we are scared ourselves they are not, but also his handlers need to think logically because if they make the wrong move pacman can be seriously hurt and his family will suffer.

I just hope Freddie Roach is ready with the Towel just like Gatti's Corner knew when to throw it in before Oscar Killed Gatti.

how come when he speaks english he always does that UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH before he says another word?
He needs a dialect teacher my friend who speaks spanish and learned english in a year said he had a good dialect and language teacher who broke his habit of that long noise thing.

Pacman seems like he is thinking of the word to say but his mouth is still making a noise like ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good fight annnnnnnnnnnnnn ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh any time anywhere.
he should stop and think of the word and then say it.

LOL! That's true. He's groping for words in his limited English vocabulary most of the time. I agree with you that he needs an English coach. I mean look at Yao Ming, he got it down pat in no time. It would help him in terms of the USA audience in a big way in generating more interest in him and boxing.

I have no idea what "pob" is. Are you in the States? It must be some Fil-Am diss of Pinoys from the motherland, I guess.
