My thoughts exactly, I wonder how many would agree with me now considering the result of last nighs fight.

Cotto is much better now than he was 3 years ago, and he couldn't cope with the constant pressure being apllied to him.

3 years ago at 140, Hatton would have won a decision or stopped Cotto late.

      Hatton beats Cotto at 140.

      Cotto beats Hatton at 147.

      Its as simple as that.

If Hatton fought Cotto the night he fought Malignaggi he would probably have beat him.

hehehe, i had this exact conversation with my bro the other day ... my opinions are the same as yours, i think that at the time Hatton would have won.

Am hoping this fight can still be made to be honest, at a catchweight maybe? It would be a great spectacle. All them Porto Rican and British fans in one stadium, can you image how good the atmosphere would be for this fight.

          Damn.
Will never happen, not enough £££££ in it for Hatton now, especially not at catchweight and he aint steppin up to 147 to fight the boy .... no point taking the risk.

Good post and i agree entirely.

???? my friend, @ 140 Hatton was only put down once by Eamonn Magee and rarely looked in any trouble at all at the weight. 147 is a TOTALLY different matter though, he never looked at all comfortable fighting at that weight and Cotto at 147 would have been too much for him.

hatton should've fought cotto at 140 where he had a chance because of cotto's chin issues at that weight.

at 147 cotto is too strong and both guys gas out.

When the Englishman Hatton fought and destroyed the great Tszyu I felt that he could go on to become one of the greatest fighters of all time.

However, he did not look after himself enough and ate the wrong stuff.

I like the man because of all he does for African charities, and he is a good boxer as he has been a World Champion for years and years, but he will never be one of the best British fighters of all time.

By the way, I feel that the referee was absolutely fair towards Ricky when he fought Mayweather.

Yes, he should have fought him when Cotto was still at 140 with increasing stamina and chin problems due to making weight becoming harder for him.

Margarito walked through punches Hatton wouldn't walk through, for one.
