There have been many dirty fighters, I don't think Saddler has ever KO'd referees/bit anyone, but out of the great fighters he got away with the most.

The fourth Pep fight was more of a wrestling match than a boxing match although Saddler wasn't the only one to blame, Pep actually studied Judo in preparation for that bout! Saddler had broken Pep's arm while clinching in their previous one.

If you want to know how to 'work' on a cut, watch the Saddler vs Elorde rematch and see how often Saddler clinches and leans his head on Elorde's cut to force a stoppage.

“The second fight,” said Pep “was the fight of our lives, for Sandy had height and reach on me and he came at me so hard. The fourth and last fight was a real brawl — don’t blame the referee, me and Sandy did it. He started it because he was the tough guy and I was the boxer but I admit I tripped Sandy up later on. Sandy was rough and tough, a great puncher but not basically a ‘dirty’ fighter. I got nothing but respect for the guy.”
